napp-it cs with ZFS on *BSD
I have tried with a Free BSD 14 ZFS server as a group members
Smartmontools should be installed additionally

Setup web-gui on Windows 10/11/Server
- download napp-it cs on a Windows machine (folder /xampp with /xampp/napp-it)
- start napp-it cs (start /xampp/napp-it/data/start_zfs-gui_as_admin.bat) as admin
- use a browser with address http(s)://localhost to manage your ZFS servers
for remote management use http(s)://ip and open Windows firewall for Apache.

*BSD (tested on Free-BSD 14)

- Install Free-BSD with ZFS and sshd
- after installation, login as root
- install midnight commander: pkg install mc
- install wget for online setup: pkg install wget
- install smartmontools: pkg install smartmontools

If you want ssh access:

edit /etc/ssh/sshd_conf (WinSCP or mc) with following settings
 - remove comment mark # and set:  PasswordAuthentication yes
 - remove comment mark # and set:  PermitRootLogin yes
save setting and reboot

"Install" socketserver (= a simple copy) on BSD

Serversoftware is on your napp-it cs in /xampp/napp-it/data/tools/socket
- copy folder c:/xampp/napp-it/data/tools/socket to your ZFS server  /any_location/socket
can be a systemfolder like /var/web-gui but /zfspool/smbshare is also possible
- insert an auth string to /path/socket/server.auth
- edit /socket/ (timeout or allowed_ip, optional)
- start socketserver via: sudo perl /path_to_cs_server/ (root console)

for debugging, you can use a Putty remote console but that ends server script when you logout

napp-it cs client on Windows
Add your BSD server to a socketgroup (menue Extensions / Socketgroup)
This creates a file /xampp/napp-it/_log/group/hostname~ip.txt
File content (auth) must be the same auth string as in above server.auth
