The napp-it 4ai Client-Server Tool Family
Standalone Go programs and companion scripts built around napp-it 4ai โ each with its own public GitHub repository under github.com/guenther-alka. Listed alphabetically.
cs-aihelp
github.com/guenther-alka/cs-aihelp
Go daemon powering the AI Helpdesk in the napp-it web GUI. Answers questions via RAG over the built-in documentation, adds live web research, and connects to Ollama or any OpenAI-compatible provider. After confirmation and a manually entered password, the AI Helpdesk can drive an interactive root console for troubleshooting and setup tasks.
cs-console
github.com/guenther-alka/cs-console
Interactive PTY/console backend for System > Console and the AI Helpdesk console mode. Spawned on demand by server.pl, always requires a root/Administrator parent process, and in interactive-shell mode additionally gates access behind a password prompt on the console itself.
cs-freeze4snap
github.com/guenther-alka/cs-freeze4snap
Ensures filesystem-consistent ZFS snapshots via QEMU Guest Agent fsfreeze, QMP stop-cont, or FIFREEZE/cgroup-v2 for LXC containers. Since v1.1.0 it also takes hotsnaps of ESXi VMs on NFS datastores (over ssh or soap; the tool runs on any machine that reaches the ESXi host, e.g. the frontend): VM snapshots, ZFS snapshot, VM snapshots removed again. Builds for Linux, macOS, Windows, FreeBSD, illumos and Solaris. Selectable directly from the GUI in snapshot and replication jobs.
cs-imageindex
github.com/guenther-alka/cs-imageindex
Photo/video folder indexer: reads EXIF/GPS data, generates scene descriptions via a vision LLM, and recognizes faces. Builds a searchable index for entire NAS folders, runs in the background, and supports Windows, Linux, macOS and illumos.
cs-proxy
github.com/guenther-alka/cs-proxy
Go-based HTTP/HTTPS edge in front of webserver.pl: terminates TLS, serves static content with caching/compression, and reverse-proxies dynamic requests. Can additionally run as a standalone reverse proxy for local AI backends (llama-server, Ollama) with API-key and IP protection.
cs-s3gateway
github.com/guenther-alka/cs-s3gateway
Read-only S3 access and web page for ZFS snapshots and ordinary folders as a single Go binary without a data format of its own: every snapshot of a dataset (<dataset>/.zfs/snapshot) shows up as a read-only folder in a bucket, ordinary folders can be exported as further buckets. Uses the credentials and certificate of RustFS (SigV4, TLS, folder jail, idle timeout) and works with WinSCP, rclone, restic, aws cli or directly in a browser (view and download). Start, stop, autostart, idle timeout and buckets via the menu System > Services > CS-S3 Gateway.
cs-scripts
github.com/guenther-alka/cs-scripts
Companion repository with build scripts for OmniOS/illumos and Solaris (RustFS, cs-imageindex, rclone, restic) plus the standalone Ollama library parser that the "About > CS Tools Download" page loads for model selection.
cs-send
github.com/guenther-alka/cs-send
Notification tool for report jobs: sends status and error messages by SMTP mail or to Discord, Slack, ntfy, Gotify and Telegram. Wired directly into napp-it CS's report job infrastructure.
cs-sleeper
github.com/guenther-alka/cs-sleeper
Daemon for automatic disk spin-down and wake-up, under System > Power. Reduces power draw and runtime on idle disks without affecting active pools or shares.
cs-stream
github.com/guenther-alka/cs-stream
Encrypted tunnel/streaming proxy (formerly zstream) for bidirectional connections between servers. Used among other things as the transport layer for rclone transfers, and enforces an explicit IP allowlist since v2.1.0.
cs-sync
github.com/guenther-alka/cs-sync
Realtime sync tool for files, ZFS targets and S3/RustFS buckets, with its own wire protocol, delete budget, quarantine and ChaCha20-Poly1305 encryption. Integrated into napp-it CS's Realtime Sync menu, autostarted via server_boot_tasks.pl.
cs-team
github.com/guenther-alka/cs-team
Self-contained collaboration platform ("Nextcloud light") as a single Go binary with a built-in web interface, also usable on a phone: CalDAV calendars, multi-user Calc and Text editing, Files with sharing and WebDAV, Tasks (ticket system light), Chat and Messages, plus users, groups and organizations. Storage is a folder (e.g. a ZFS dataset) or an S3/RustFS bucket; start and stop via the menu System > Services > 17_cs-team. Mail server, DynDNS address and webhooks are configured inside cs-team itself (Settings menu).
